Valentine's Day 2027 Is a Sunday: How to Send Flowers in Melbourne
Share
Valentine's Day 2027 is on Sunday 14 February. That small detail changes a few things if you're sending flowers in Melbourne: offices are closed, many florists don't deliver on Sundays, and the days before the 14th get busier than usual. Here's how to get it right.
Do florists deliver on Sunday 14 February?
Many don't, because Sunday isn't a normal delivery day. Flowers Alley does: we deliver on Valentine's Day itself, Sunday 14 February 2027, across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Because we don't normally deliver on Sundays, the 14th books out, so it's worth pre-ordering and choosing 14 February at checkout. See our Valentine's Day flowers.
Sending to someone at work? Book Friday 12 February
Most offices are closed on Sunday the 14th, so flowers sent to a workplace should go out on Friday 12 February. Add the company name, the level and the recipient's full name in the delivery notes. Business deliveries arrive by 5pm. Our Valentine's delivery days are Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February.
When should I order Valentine's flowers?
As early as you like. You choose the delivery date at checkout, and we make every arrangement fresh on the morning of delivery, so ordering in January doesn't mean older flowers in February. Red roses are the first thing to sell out, and on Valentine's Day the same day cut-off is earlier than our usual 12pm.
How many roses should I send?
- One rose: "you're the one". Simple and meaningful.
- Ten to a dozen: the classic Valentine's bouquet. Our Sweet Heart red roses start from $90.
- Twenty-five or more: a statement. My Only Rose is our extra-large red rose bouquet, from $230.
- Fifty: unforgettable. Eternal Romance is 50 premium red roses for $480.
What colour roses for Valentine's Day?
Red means romantic love. Pink is gentler and suits a new relationship. White often marks a long marriage, and yellow means friendship, so it's better kept for Galentine's. If red isn't their style, a lush pink or pastel arrangement works just as well. Browse every option on our Valentine's Day flowers page or our rose delivery page.
Flowers with a gift
The Le Petit Rose Gift Hamper ($99) pairs a red rose with rosé, chocolate and a candle in a suitcase gift box. You can also add a bottle to any bouquet from our flowers with wine and champagne range. Alcohol can only be delivered to someone aged 18 or over.
Sending anonymously
Leave your name off the card message and we'll never reveal who sent them. Every order comes with your message printed on a Flowers Alley card, and we never include the price.
